If you have tried your heat exchanger in the laboratory and you want to match the data measured in workers with the data calculated by the software, you need to use the calibration factors.

GLOBAL FACTOR: is a multiplicative factor on the performance of the heat exchanger. It can be in the range of about +/- 30% of 1, then from 0.7 to 1.4.

SURFACE FACTOR: is a multiplicative factor on the total exchange surface.

HEAT TRANSFER COEFF. FACTOR SHELL SIDE: influences the heat transfer coefficient on the shell side. It can be in the range of about +/- 30% of 1, then from 0.7 to 1.4. If it is necessary to put bigger factors in order to calibrate the heat exchanger, it is advisable to contact UNILAB.

PRESSURE DROPS FACTOR SHELL SIDE: influeces the pressure drops on the shell side. It can be in the range of about +/- 30% of 1, then from 0.7 to 1.4. If it is necessary to put bigger factors in order to calibrate the heat exchanger, it is advisable to contact UNILAB.

HEAT TRANSFER COEFF. FACTOR TUBE SIDE: influences the heat transfer coefficient on the tube side. It can be in the range of about +/- 30% of 1, then from 0.7 to 1.4. If it is necessary to put bigger factors in order to calibrate the heat exchanger, it is advisable to contact UNILAB.
